City Gates stands out as a one of the most unique residential structures to be added to the architectural landscape that is now part of the corridor leading to the downtown Dallas business, cultural and entertainment center. From its exterior, this structure makes a bold statement through its brightly colored Mondrian influenced color scheme. The tall three story blue wall sits several feet out from the main exterior wall of the building to provide the frame for the masterpiece encased within.
As you enter the courtyard, with its trellis-covered walkway, you cannot ignore the sound and beauty of the three cascading waterfalls erupting from within the courtyard wall. Along this wall are pedestals of beautiful plants, which complement an inviting garden of sculpted colored columns.
Each floor level is appointed with an individual color palette. The elevator hallway at each floor level contains a gallery of canvasses that capture the architectural elements that are incorporated in the building's design.
Each of the 32 residential units are designed to meet the objectives of high quality, simplicity, functionality and dramatic views to the Downtown skyline, City Place tower or the waterfalls and courtyard .
City Gates was created through the vision of German developer, Joerg Sannemann. Since the Re-unification of East and West Germany in 1990, his organization has restored over 200 architectural masterpiece buildings located in Weimar Germany, the birthplace of the 1920s Bauhaus architectural and design movement. In addition, he has developed more than 25 new structures to further contribute to this world recognized cultural city. City Gates represents Mr. Sannemann's first project in the United States. The same sensitivity to quality and design is clearly evident in City Gates, which is now available to become a home for 32 special residents.
